I don't know - there is a known IDE issue in the "should-fix" list which
sounds a lot like my one.

I don't know.  If it's in the hardware there ought to be a resolution
one way or the other: either it's possible for the software to do
something about it or it isn't.  If it's not the hardware, then, er...

You might try the development list.  Don't be too surprised if they
tell you to read the documentation that isn't written because I don't
understand it yet, or if they ignore you, or tell you to read a FAQ.
