Hello and Thank you in advance. I recently did a clean install of Fedora Core 1, which contains Kernel-2.4.22-1.2135.nptlsmp. From that point USB modules load but never seem to attach to attached devices. I am attempting to attach/usb a Palm M505 with a USB Cradle.
AFTER pressing hotsync button on palm, I am waiting for the error messages to get logged into syslog telling me which ttyUSBx port its on. Those messages never appear and no connection to 'pilot-xfer -p /dev/ttyUSB1 -L' ever happens. I have researched this issue in some detail and now conclude that I need help fixing something; because everything looks like it should be working. Here is some basic info on my system and a few key logs. Please point me in the right direction to fix this is possible. I have tried, switch MPS version from 1.4 to 1.1 in bios, booting with nolacpi and noacpi, switch to uhci..., changing the order of ehci & ochi in modules.conf, compiling as modules vs internal, switching physical pci-card slots, enabling & disabling the amd768(MB usb ports) [Hardware] DUAL AMD 2400+ MPs, MSI K7D Master L-series Mainboard (AMD 760MPX) Add-on NEC USB2.0 4port card, 1GB DDR2100, 2 WD40GB drives, NVidia 440MX AGP, ATI TV-Wonder VE, SB 16 Sound Card. (one odd thing: software PowerDown stopped working with ACPI; I have to press the power button to shut if the system physically off.) (This is one of two machines (well diff video/sound cards), the other runs XP pro with the USB card in the same PCI slot and the ohci drivers.)
