Were you using USB 2.0?

lspci -vvv  etc. might help.  Have you read the FAQ?

I've seen a few comments about problems with SiS.  I have a feeling that
some of them were sorted by the most recent kernel, see for example

but I haven't gone back through the archives to check all the details.
Have you Googled for something like "SIS USB kernel 2.6.1" ?  There are
lots of SiS kernel fixes mentioned.

I'd forget USB2.0 with that kernel.  Try 2.6.1.

Try 2.4.24 if you can't try 2.6.1, some of the fixes get back-ported.

There have been a *lot* of changes in the USB code in recent weeks,
try the latest kernels and let us know what you find.  Whatever you
find with the new kernels, read the FAQ and post all the information
it asks for.  Thanks.
