I have a usb keyboard (ibm rapid access 3) with a bunch of extra mulimedia keys. These keys are active on one of my systems but not on the other. By active I mean that they produce a scancode with "showkey -s". This is strange as I am running an identical kernel (2.6.1) on both systems. My guess is that one bios initializes the keyboard differently from the other. Googling for this problem I learnt that for an older ps/2 version of the keyboard you had to send a magic command sequence to the keyboad to activate the extra keys: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/doc/README.rapidaccess
Now I am wondering how to send commands sequences to a usb keyboard?
