Unfortunately, I cannot discover how to get my D-Link DU-CV USB video grabber going in Linux. It can take a signal from a VCR or DVD player and turn it into a .avi or .mpg, with audio too.
This is not a terribly well-supported device. Very little info available at the manufacturer's website, not even a driver for XP, tho' the 98 driver works fine.
Anyone have any experience of getting this, or a similar device, going? I ain't very techy, but realise this is the moment where I might have to learn to be...
I probably can't help much, but I think it has to do with the "Video4Linux" driver. It supposedly lets you capture video into your computer. You should probably compile a kernel and include that driver. I have a Belkin USB Videobus, which captures anything output to either RCA plugs or S-Video into a USB port. I would also like to be able to get it to work in Linux; I haven't made it work yet, but admittedly I haven't tried very hard either. Any hints on that too would be appreciated.
