I am *this* far off never booting my PC into M$ ever again. Unfortunately, I cannot discover how to get my D-Link DU-CV USB video grabber going in Linux. It can take a signal from a VCR or DVD player and turn it into a .avi or .mpg, with audio too.
This driver should work: http://www.emuit.com/webcam.html
You might need to add your device's vendor and product IDs to the driver's table. The driver author(s) should be able to help you with that.
This is not a terribly well-supported device. Very little info available at the manufacturer's website, not even a driver for XP, tho' the 98 driver works fine.
For anyone who cares, the XP driver is available here: http://www.dlink-intl.com/technical/drivers.nsf/USB+Family+on+web?OpenView&Start=1&Count=30&Expand=16#16
The included .INF files might be useful in getting it to work under Linux.
