hi. i posted this problem before but noone gave me any answer except one guy, he suggested it would be interrupt problems. the thing is that when i plug the device in i get the following errors/results when running dmesg
hub 2-0:1.0: new USB device on port 1, assigned address 3 usb 2-1: device not accepting address 3, error -110 hub 2-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 1. Maybe the USB cable is bad? hub 2-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 1. Maybe the USB cable is bad? hub 2-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 1. Maybe the USB cable is bad? hub 2-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 1. Maybe the USB cable is bad? this was with the kernel version 2.6.1. i also tried it with 2.6.0, and 2.4.22-ac4. everything was the same with all of the kernels. the device is manufactured by x-micro. one of my friends tested it under windows and it worked. i also took it back to the store and tested another one, but the result was the same. my machine is sis650 based, and ohci compilant. i thought that might be the problem so i tested the device in a computer that's host controller is uhci compilant, and another that is ehci compilant. no progress! i have been exchangig mail with the manufacturer, but no real solution up till now. the problem is not with the driver of the wlan adpter, but somewhere at a lower level, i just don't know where. hope someone has the solution. well thanks for any help nemi ------------------------------------------------------- The SF.Net email is sponsored by EclipseCon 2004 Premiere Conference on Open Tools Development and Integration See the breadth of Eclipse activity.
