I tried the following things:

1) usb-audio+emu10k1+kernel 2.4.24: A new device /dev/dsp1 appears but the
souncard stays mute (I can see it by a red led on it that becomes green
during winzz boot)

2) usb-audio+kernel 2.6.0 with emu10k1 compiled together with the kernel (as
a module): same as above.
In both cases I tried a cat to /dev/dsp1 and it outputs an infinite series
of white squares (I suppose that means someting happens..)

3) I foud a driver named exaudio found on http://www.cs.umass.edu/~cochran/
it is an usb-audio driver hack in order to get it work with a Creative's
Extigy USB sound card that should be a card very similar to mine: in this
case nothing works (as far as I can see, since the usb registers
something...)

I have been suggested to go on ALSA site, and I did, I posted the same mail,
I wrote this one just for sake of completeness.
As before any advice, clou, or whatsoever is welcome.
Bye
Luca
