I wonder what's the current situation with the USB-IrDA drivers? I struggled with my USB Dongle from Hoya, only to find eventually that I have to disable the module 'ir-usb' and use 'irda-usb' instead. Why is there anyway this 'ir-usb' which tries to bind the same dongle but just doesn't work?
Is there supposed to be a difference of functioning between these two kernel modules, and has this problem been solved in 2.6-series of kernels?
