Hallo everybody.
My name is Pier Angelo and I am italian.
I have got a laptop (Sony Vaio FR105, chipest VIA KT266A) with Slack 9.1
installed. I have compiled the new 2.6.1 kernel and I have tried to use
an usb-storage (USB2).
This is part of the dmesg output:

settings may help.
usb 1-5: control timeout on ep0out
usb 1-5: device not accepting address 2, error -110
hub 1-0:1.0: new USB device on port 5, assigned address 3
It seems that the hub is recognized but that strange message
("Unlink after no-IRQ?") is showed when I connect the external unit and I
am not able to use it. I have read the FAQ on linux-usb and I have tried
to disable the ACPI but in this case the kernel is not able to find the
IRQs. Unfortunately my laptop's bios is very simple and I can not
manually assign the IRQ.

If I unload the ehci_hcd module, the usb device is recognised by uhci_hcd
but, of course, the speed is really low.
Have you an idea on how solve this problem?
Thanks in advance,
Pier Angelo
