hey folks,
Attach: /home/matt/lsmod output of ls
Attach: /proc/modules proc modules

I lost my old usb pen drive -- which I got to work without much
difficulty -- and bought a new one, which I can't get to work at all.
Unfortunately I can't remember with absolute certainty whether the
kernel version I'm currently running is one I was using back before I
lost the old drive...

Anyway, I'd very much appreciate it if folks could help me out -- I'm
going away Wednesday for a few days and this thing would come in vey
handy over the next couple of days.

Here's the relevant info:

Kernel version: 2.4.23, a self-rolled version, running under debian
GNU/linux unstable
USB device: SanDisk Cruzer 256 meg (apparently a problematic model,
from what I've seen on the net)

Error message (from dmesg):

hub.c: new USB device 00:11.2-1.2, assigned address 19
usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 1292
usb.c: USB device not accepting new address=19 (error=-110)
hub.c: new USB device 00:11.2-1.2, assigned address 20
usb.c: USB device not accepting new address=20 (error=-110)

device does not get assigned to /dev/sd*, so partitioning, etc
(solutions I've seen suggested elsewhere) is not possible.

I think all the relevant kernel modules are loaded, but just in case
I've attached copies of
cat lsmod
/proc/modules

I thought about attaching:
/proc/bus/usb/devices (but the device doesn't show up there)
/proc/scsi/scsi (ditto)

I'm at the far end of my knowledge here. If anyone can help I'd be
desperately appreciative. thanks much,

matt
