Wow, amazing! I've looked at these devices many times and I really
wanted to buy one, but the lack of a Linux driver has always stopped
me. 

I even contacted Seiko in the US, but they were extremely unwilling to
cooperate. They still live in a different world and seem to consider the
protocol specifications their crucial, proprietary, secret and
competitive company assets, ridiculous as that may sound.

That's a very impressive job you have done and I guess I'll be rushing
to buy an InkLink device soon :-)

If you haven't E-mailed Werner Almesberger yet, it might be time to do
so -- I know he had tried to guess the protocol and I think he might
have an InkLink device.
