Linux does support USB 2 in the latter (since 2.4.19 I think) 2.4 kernels and 2.6. I don't know about this device though, did you check the Working Device List (linked from http://www.linux-usb.org)? BTW, even if Linux didn't support USB2 all devices should fall back to 1.1 speeds.
