I've no idea how I failed to look there for the FAQ. :-)
Well, there is a similar entry (failing USB with AMD-756, I've got
AMD-760) in it, but it suggests to upgrade the kernel, which I've
already done.

Well, now that I look at my post I see how confusing my writing is. :-)
I was trying to say that those messages are from 2.6 but it was quite
similar on 2.4. I can't quote them right now, because I ditched 2.4 a
while ago.
