Hallo linux-usb-users, i also get an external case with this genesislogic chip, without knowing it prior. I use kernel 2.4.25 and want to use my dvd-burner lg 4081 in the case (on a pci-usb2.0 card with via-chipset).
I tried the patch in scsiglue.c (max_sectors: 128), and also tried the values 64, 32 and 8. I get managed it to copy a cd from the external device to the harddisk with this values, but trying to burn a dvd+rw with growisofs allways ends up in the "usb_control/bulk_message: timeout" error, sometimes after 0,44% of writing, sometimes after 4%. Anybody here another idea of what trying with kernel 2.4.x? I can't get easily to 2.6 because i have initio 9100 scsi, avm-b1-pci isdn-card and i'm using lvm on nearly all volumes.
