I have the problems on writing, not on reading anymore. After setting  
max_sectors to 128 i could copy whole cds, but writing goes wrong. Also  
when testing with an old ide-harddisk and dd if=/dev/zero with BS=1MB and  
500 counts (the hd is only 504MB) gives sometimes OK and sometimes  
timeout.

I tried with knoppix-linux on my system, but it hangs also. As a last try  
tomorrow i'll test it with knoppix on an asrock-board with integrated  
usb2.0 and an Athlon XP 2200+.
But as it seems i can give the case back  i'm looking now for case with a  
cypress bridge.
