Hallo Rick Jones , I have the problems on writing, not on reading anymore. After setting max_sectors to 128 i could copy whole cds, but writing goes wrong. Also when testing with an old ide-harddisk and dd if=/dev/zero with BS=1MB and 500 counts (the hd is only 504MB) gives sometimes OK and sometimes timeout.

As timing seems to be the I tried with knoppix-linux on my system, but it hangs also. As a last try tomorrow i'll test it with knoppix on an asrock-board with integrated usb2.0 and an Athlon XP 2200+. But as it seems i can give the case back i'm looking now for case with a cypress bridge.
