I've read somewhere that this "may be" due to cups thinking that the usb device is a printer. I indeed noticed that the kernel oops occurred during cups setup.
Well I don't now if that's the exact explanation, but still, disabling cups startup worked for me : no more oops at boot time.
If you don't need cups, you can try that.
Otherwise, I'm sure somebody will come up with a better explanation and solution.
