I recently purchased a used Saitek Cyborg 3D joystiack and I cannot get it to run on Linux 2.4.22 kernel. Plug it in and usbview and /proc/bus/usb/devices list the Saitek joystick. Cool I said.

I read the HID section in the Users Guide at linux-usb.org and made sure all of the usb and input modules were loaded. hid, input, joydev, etc. I do a cat /dev/input/js0 and I get a "No such device".

I boot XP and load the Saitek driver and test the joystick by calibrating it, etc and all works fine. So, the joystick is functional. Of course I figured it was since the linux usb syetem detected and reported it correctly.

Go back and boot linux. But, now when I plug in the joystick usbview reports "Unknown device". So, still no joystick.

How do you make this think work on Linux.

Oh yea, /dev/input/js0 is major 13 and minor 0.
