Greetings,

I just installed a Tyan S2460 mobo and no longer have usb support. I've
read the FAQ and saw the note about the AMD-756 and don't think it
applies (as the bios is date 03/01/02 and I'm running 2.4.26).

When I insert my usb key, the kernel reports:

... kernel: hub.c: Cannot enable port 1 of hub 1, disabling port.
... kernel: hub.c: Maybe the USB cable is bad?

so I know the device is being seen (but isn't liked).

My 2.4.26 kernel has CONFIG_USB_DEBUG enabled and dmesg reports the
relevant startup messages:

usb.c: registered new driver usbdevfs
usb.c: registered new driver hub

"lsmod | grep usb" presently reports the following modules loaded:

    usb-storage 48024 0 (unused)
    scsi_mod 95588 3 [usb-storage sr_mod sd_mod ide-scsi]
    usb-ohci 19368 0 (unused)
    usbcore 69356 1 [usb-storage usb-ohci]

Any suggestions as to what I can/should be doing? What else should I be
looking at?

Thank you.

David
