| You can try this patch (it should apply both to 2.4 and 2.6 -

Hi!

I applied the patch and recompiled the kernel.
Now, the message is:
- ----syslog----
May 4 18:57:07 tash kernel: usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using
address 4
May 4 18:57:08 tash kernel: SCSI subsystem initialized
May 4 18:57:08 tash kernel: Initializing USB Mass Storage driver...
May 4 18:57:08 tash kernel: scsi0 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage
devices
(no further messages)
- ----syslog----

And when trying to mount:
mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/usb/ -t vfat
mount: special device /dev/sda1 does not exist

dmesg does not say anything about sdaX:
usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using address 4
SCSI subsystem initialized
Initializing USB Mass Storage driver...
scsi0 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices

And nothing more is detected. I even tried to connect my external USB
disc and it no longer works... maybe the usb-storage module hanged...
I tried removing it and it says it is in use and cannot be removed.

Cheers,

/rp
