But Question: is it necessary to have it in order to use the USB 2 MIDI Interface? Or is it just for some Tools which need it?
Thanks you very much

Did you compile "Preliminary USB Filesystem" into your kernel/modules?

Hello
I've just tried to install Steinberg USB 2 MIDI Interface (with MidiSport2x2 Firmware).
In the FAQ at linux-usb.org I read that after this installation I should have a /proc/bus/usb directory. However this directory doesn't exist on my system.
I'm using the debian package
hotplug 0.0.20031013-2 Linux Hotplug Scripts
on a AGNULA Linux Distribution (demudi-1.1.0).
My /var/log/messages shows:

This doesn't look too bad to me...
I also added the line
none /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs noauto 0 0
as described in the linux-usb faq. No /proc/bus/usb showed up. When I try to mount it it tells me:
mount: mount point /proc/bus/usb does not exist
Any idea?
Thanks a lot in advance.
