I need to hook 2 serial devices (Creative IR and touch screen) to one of theses http://www.amptron.com/html/htpci810s.html. (notice: no serial ports, no slots to add a card, but it does have 2 usb ports.) .
I could hook up 2 usb->db9 adaptors, but I know as soon as I do that I will want another usb device. So a nifty 4 port hub with 2 db9 ports looks like the way to go. according to 2.7 kernel docs, these are supported ConnectTech WhiteHEAT 4 port converter Keyspan USA-series Serial Adapters Digi AccelePort I haven't figured out if the Belkin USB Multi-Port Hub F5U116 is supported - it is all over ebay for about $20 including shipping. I guess I could use 2 single port adaptors and hook up an $8 hub if I needed more usb. Will the drivers have trouble with 2 serial ports? Does anyone have any reconditions?
