Hi,

I've got a Saitek P150 USB Gamepad which, since 2.6.5, reports it has 5
axes instead of 2, and doesn't give any events.

I've tried this under 2 machines (one with a via chipset, one with an
intel chipset) with the same problem, and was also reported on:-

http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg23432.html

But couldn't find any solution within that thread.

However, I've enabled debugging in hid-core.c, and found that the lack of
events is because the reports aren't being recieved in one go, rather
divided up over 2 reports, both of which are too short, thus ignored. The
following log should explain alot better.

http://www.ma.man.ac.uk/~jlentin/Saitek_P150.log

I've tried random playing with the sources of 2.6.4 (which works) vs.
2.6.7 (which produces the behaviour above), but with no luck. I was
hoping this extra debug info might mean someone else could help.

I've got 3 USB Gamepads (Saitek P150, Rockfire Star Traveller, Acrox USB
Game Device), and could provide similar information if need be.

The Rockfire reports 1 extra axis with 2.6.(5,6,7), however still works
fine.

The Acrox USB reports it's axes and buttons perfectly, however has more
obscure problems with all kernel versions (it tries to have a logical
range of -127--127 for each axes, but this ends up being -120 -- -127 ,
-128, 127 -- 120 (I think---that's mostly from memory)). This can be
solved by interesting calibartion values, and is also evident in windows,
which suggests that there is something wrong with it, as opposed to it
being a Linux implementation problem.

If this would be better suited to usb-devel/sent directly to Vojtech
Pavlik, I can resend if need be.

Cheers,
