This drive works fine when connected to another system. When I connect the
drive to my non-Linux laptop's USB 2.0 controller, the drive works perfectly
with the software that came with it (HP RecordNow, etc.) This drive has also
been connected to an old HP Pavilion 4530, and it works.

My MS Wheel Mouse Optical works fine when plugged into the USB 2.0
controller on my Linux system. Unfortunately, I don't have any other USB
mass-storage devices that I can test.

I'm all out of ideas. :(
