Sorry for aswering so late.

Lacie's Mobile Hard Drive works fine.

The problem was with the AMD756 adapter on my motherboard. I finally
bought a PCI/USB2 card and now the mobile HD is detected as soon as I
plug it.

Just a curiosity. Does anyone know the reason why it is detected as a
Toshiba drive by the usb-storage driver, but it is registered correctly
in /proc/bus/usb/devices ?

Risparmierei un sacco di tempo se lasciassi perdere tutto e diventassi
matto adesso.
