There have been some problems recently with play back RCE DVDs, but I think most of those have been fixed in the latest kernels.
What's and RCE DVD?
My Iomega DVD super-combo-reads-and-writes-everything drive works just fine.
What's the model number, or USB ID?
Does it have the builtin capture card?
That the primary reason I was looking at it. $300 for a DVD everything drive with audio and video capture in a single, portable unit. So it would work with my system at hoe, or work, or anywhere else I might go. Just carry any needed software, and it should fit on one disc.
Great for trips. Instead of 20+ VHSC tapes, just 2 or three, and make DVD/VCD discs each night, with some limited editing too.
