Alan, I am sorry I gave the incorrect information. "insmod" does return, but it takes about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Thanks for the help.

Why are you still using 2.6.5 instead of 2.6.8 or 2.6.9? The problem has probably been fixed in the later kernels.
