There are actually _two_ devices involved. One is the CD drive itself, which is manufactured by MSI. The other is the enclosure with its USB-IDE interface; that is made by Genesys Logic. So naturally enough, one shows up in /proc/scsi/scsi and the other shows up in /proc/bus/usb/devices.
