I get it.  For some reason the "[0]" sequences are interpreted as
hypertext links, and that causes the "<#0> " strings to appear.

For future reference, when saving patches from marc.theaimsgroup.com, you 
should always use the "Download message RAW" link near the top.  Then 
these problems will go away.
