>From your logs this looks like a hardware error. Since you say the camera works okay on other computers, I'd guess that there's a problem either with the USB cable you're using or with the notebook's USB controller. If the controller is bad there's not much you can do (except perhaps to buy a PC card with a USB controller). Apart from that, all I can think of is to check the cable connections, making sure everything is firm and solid.
