I couldn't find the device listed anywhere explicitly. It's a Mitsumi 7-in-1 disk drive and card reader, model FA404M. It's fairly generic kit, a bit of googling around appears to show others who are using it without problems. I'll check on the kernel logs and post them here if anything interesting turns up. Looks like I may have to boot into that other OS to see if it works there :-( Not that it'll understand a card with a EXT2 filesystem!
