I've been having a problem with USB devices where
khubd will suddenly go into uninterruptable sleep and
I've only been able to get the USB chain to continue
to work by rebooting.

Linux shamu 2.6.8-gentoo-r10 #1 Mon Nov 22 09:42:58
CST 2004 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) Processor AuthenticAMD
GNU/Linux

Asus A7V with VIA chipset, 800MHz T-bird, onboard USB

ps shows:
root 5120 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? D Nov22 0:00 [khubd]

lsmod shows:
Module Size Used by
usb_storage 27136 0
spca50x 240772 1
videodev 7168 2 spca50x
uhci_hcd 28560 0
usbcore 99044 5 usb_storage,spca50x,uhci_hcd

lsusb hangs in uninterruptable sleep.

For some reason, ~7 minutes after plugging in a flash
card reader, it disconnects (without disconnecting the
hardware) and hangs khubd.

Anyone else encounter this or know how to solve it?
