Me again,
sorry for the double posting, seems like my mail configuration was b0rked... I'm starting to hate this years Christmas.
Anyway, I'm one step further, I found out that one of the cables is now broken.
But with the good cable, the cases are still not working with the EPIA and Linux (with WinXP on the same box they work and get recognized as a USB 2.0 device)
I'll investigate further and post again if I find out more.
