Now I'm really confused.  Which driver versions are you comparing?  Do you 
mean that 2.6.10 works better than 2.6.9?

Didn't you just post, in your previous message, a log showing 2.6.8.1 
working correctly?  Which version was having all the problems?

Does virgin 2.6.10 work okay?  If not, when you add the second debugging 
patch what shows up in the log?
