Since I wrote the patch, I've been using it on a single machine (all others are 2.6 or don't need it) and seems to work well. I did notice the scsi bus numbers increment for each plug as it does in 2.6 so if you do it often you could see scsi bus 100. I wish they'd go back to filling in the first unused bus.
