Hello. I am seeking suggestions to perform video capture using the Sony VRD-VC10 DVDirect. It provides USB2 interface and I know the DVD burner part is working OK. The usb-storage module loads OK and a DVD burned at proper speed. Currently testing under Slackware 10 and 2.4.26 kernel.
I believe the video capture device ID's are 0x54C and 0x1DE. When I manually load the usbvideo module it loads the videodev module as well but it does not identify any hardware in the log output. At this point I do not know what type of video stream to expect from the unit. I suspect MPEG-2 on the /dev/video device. Other than possibly cat'ing the stream into a file, I do not know what software would work well here either. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
