Hi all.

My graphic tablet Aiptek 8000U can't work under Linux. The light don't
blink... never...
All the modules are correctly loaded (i mean: usbcore, usbhid, ehci_hcd,
ohci_hcd, evdev, aiptek) and every usb device works with no problem (USB
1 and 2), even connected to the port i usually plug the tablet in. I
have also tried to change the port, but nothing.

In /proc (/proc/bus/usb/devices) i can clearly see the Aiptek tablet and
even in /sys/bus/usb/drivers/aiptek/<usb-port>, there is everything
right (but event_count, is always still to 0).
Obviously, giving a "cat /dev/input/event*", it doesn't report anything
moving the pen on the tablet.
So, the tablet is perfectly recognized but it can't work... and can't
understand why.

I've discovered that, after a Windows session, rebooting in Linux
(without hard reset), the tablet can be seen perfectly (and works). If
during the reboot, i unplug the usb jack (of the tablet) and re-plug it,
the tablet doesn't work. Same happens if, after this procedure (windows
- rebooting - opening a Linux session) i unplug and then plug the usb
jack, under Linux. (seems a problem of usb* Linux modules. Someone told
me that maybe the usb-modules can't download the firmware from the
tablet... but it's strange.)
Anyone can help me ?
