Well, I use it to make it a part of my to a raid1-array which works fine if you tell linux to load the usb-driver before the software-raid stuff.Did you challenge the USB disk with hour-long transfers and this result in about one error per hour or what else did you do?
My tests and work with the THS weren't that harsh yet...
(have a laptop)
However my Genesys-powered-case throwed from time to time errors, so raid detected this and removed the disc from the array.
I was not even able to sync a 30gb partition at leat one time :-(
Since this ugly genesys-chipset is known to be buggy and unreliable - I sent it back - but if you have no problems with the cypress chip I dont find a reason why I should have problems. I also googled a bit arround - but found not serious problem reports expect one...
