Hi ! I saw that someone already posted a problem with Genius Slimstar keyboard. Howere the person didn't responded to Alan's Stern question. So I would like to discuss this problem again.
The problem is that mentioned above keyboard is not recognized and is not working under Linux. My system is an USB-only system, and I have mouse and my previous usb-keyboard operational (uhci-hcd, HID) - with no porblems. Now, plugging in the Genius keyboard gives following message in dmesg: usb 2-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 7 usb 2-1: hald timed out on ep0in drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: usb_submit_urb(ctrl) failed drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: timeout initializing reports input: USB HID v1.10 Keyboard [ABBAHOME] on usb-0000:00:1d.1-1 I have contacted Genius technical support and they said that they have tested this keyboard under "Linux 7.3 and 9.2" (what is that???) and it was OK. Anyway, I tested kernel 2.6.10 and 2.6.11 (gentoo-sources to be specific). In addition I may say that booting with Genius keyboard plugged in just locks the box just when it starts "coldplugging pci". I have USB enabled in BIOS so this keyboard is aviable until OS takes, or try to take, control over it. This is really nice keyboard. I'd be very grateful for any help. Please.....
