Hi,

I am running Debian 'testing' with kernel-2.6.8. My usb devices are:
ADSL router, 7-button mouse and a writing tablet.

Whenever I go on- and offline, my mouse and tablet freezes. Through 'cat
/proc/bus/input/devices' I noticed that the device and event number for
the mouse and tablet changes e.g. on boot-up, the tablet was mouse1,
event2 but after on- and off-line, it became mouse2, event3.

I resorted to udev for persistent device name but this does not solve
the problem. When I try to display info about the device, I can't list
info for the modem by udevinfo because it is not in the block or class
category but the bus. I can't locate it in /dev either. But I can get
info thro' proc/bus/usb/devices or lsusb.

Why did the router causes changes in the others' usb devices?
The router is not a /dev device. Can that be a problem?

Would appreciate some assistance.

Thanks

hja
