Hi Nikhil,
I don't know if it still the case (you'd have found this if you
search the archives I imagine) but it use to be you needed to introduce a
delay in the boot process (which meant a kernel patch) to allow USB
devices time to respond. If you are not actually trying to boot but mount
the disk during the installation process then that can't be the issue but
I thought I'd mention it just in case.
