Sorry if this is answered long ago, I can't find anything defnitive. I
would like to attach a 160Gb drive via USB-2.0 to my laptop running linux
2.6.12-2. The one I have been looking at is this
Acomdata HD160U2E3-72 160 GB 7200 RPM 480MBits/sec
Will it work? Anyone else using this particular drive?
I see some discussion in this list back in 2002-3 about 160Gb drives which
was all negative, and no good news since then, yet if this drive claims the
full 480MBits/sec it must be compliant with ATA/133 or whatever is needed?
I don't want to use firewire as I also would like to able to attach the
drive to another machine that has only USB-1.1.
Hoping someone can say whether this or any other 160Gb drive is tried and
working.
John
