Hello,

I recently bought a Sony DSC-W5 camera (very nice camera, btw). It
somehow refuses to talk to my computer. It was supposed to work like
a standard USB mass storage device - but it doesn't.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# mount /dev/sda mnt/
mount: /dev/sda is not a valid block device

and that's it. Works fine for other storage devices. Yes, the camera
is on, in 'normal' access mode. I've even tested the cable.

I'm running linux 2.4.30 from kernel.org. I compiled usb-storage with
debug messages so that I have a lot of output to show. I'd prefer not
to upgrade to 2.6, as my laptop makes a screetching sound with it.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Regards,
        Mario
