I don't know specific to USB. But you can refer LDD3 (Linux Device Driver 3rd Edition) book available at http://www.lwn.net - covers upto 2.6.10. Also lwn.net has few articles on porting from 2.4 to 2.6.x. If you are following the latest kernel from git then some interface might have been changed since then.
