What do I have to do to get hald to update on hotplugging?
Do you have udev sending the events to hald?
no. don't know how to do this.
Do you have udev running at all?
udevd is running, I can make a PNY brank usb flash memory
stick appear as /dev/pny using udev.rules
Do you have the hal hotplug link in place?
I think so.
/etc/hotplug.d/default/20-hal.hotplug -> /usr/libexec/hal.hotplug
The hal /etc/dev.d/ link?
no. Don't know how to do that either, sorry.
Where should I look all this stuff up?
Thanks Joe
