That all looks just the way it should. > When I connect or disconnect mouse or keyboard no log output visible on > dmesg That's strange. Try using the usbmon facility. It's described in the kernel source in Documentation/usb/usbmon.txt. To keep the output simple, don't plug in any USB devices except the hub and the mouse or keyboard. One other thing to note. Some monitors with embedded hubs are designed so that if the monitor goes into power-saving mode, the hub gets turned off. Stupid, I know, but maybe that's happening to you. > /Tommi > > > On Sat, 2005-12-17 at 17:18 -0500, Alan Stern wrote: > > On Sat, 17 Dec 2005, Tommi Niemi wrote: > > > > > Couldn't manage to detect devices attached behind hub (mouse, keyboard, > > > memory stick) These are working perfectly w/ Win2k and WinXP. > > > > > > here is cut from devices list from /proc/bus/usb > > > > > > T: Bus=03 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 5 Spd=12 MxCh= 4 > > > D: Ver= 1.00 Cls=09(hub ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1 > > > P: Vendor=04a6 ProdID=0180 Rev= 1.00 > > > S: Manufacturer=Nokia Display Products Oy > > > S: Product=Nokia USB Hub Type P > > > C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=60 MxPwr= 2mA > > > I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 1 Cls=09(hub ) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=hub > > > E: Ad=81(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 1 Ivl=255ms One other thing I just noticed. Atr=60 on the C: line actually is an illegal value. It should be Atr=e0. However it shouldn't make any difference.
