If the device needs a special driver then the chances of getting it to work are pretty slim. About the only approaches are to ask the vendor for a Linux driver, to ask the vendor for a description of the protocol so you can write your own driver, or to monitor the USB communications while Windows is running so you can reverse-engineer the protocol and write your own driver.
