Well, it turned out that the situation is _a_lot_ worse: I am able to use only 225MB of the card. It seems that Windows creates the filesystem on the card, says that everything is OK but actually is not able to use that disk space. Linux is more conservative, it seems. As I am sure that the reader is able to handle cards of greater size, I suspect the card (brand new!) to be defective. Thanks for your help. > > Alan Stern > Regards, Fabio
