Hi "Driver",
        The usb_audio is detecting the microphone (1 input and 0 outputs). 
What is in /proc/bus/usb/devices while the webcam is connected? If you 
don't see that file have a read through the USB User Guide and FAQ at 
http://www.linux-usb.org. Looking at the Working Device List there are a 
few suggestions;

        Perhaps using a recent 2.6 kernel would solve your problem (cf 
first posting dated 2005-07-06).
