Hi I'm new

I've just bought a Trust NB-7500P USB-USB cable and I'm having trouble getting
it talk. Its purpose is transfer files from a Debian desktop (2.6.16 kernel) to
a Windows 2000 laptop.

lsusb :
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 067b:2501 Prolific Technology Inc, PL 2501 USB-USB
bridge (USB2.0)

I've read the usbnet page and tried
modprobe usbnet cdc_ether

(which from the above page I took to be the simplest try as there seems to be
no mini-driver for the PL 2501)

but I'm still not seeing one host from the other. Then

ifconfig usb0 192.168.1.3
SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
usb0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device

Trust's Windows program shows "1 unkown"

Any one able to give me a clue please?

Thanks in advance
Maurice
